My friend Andrea asked if I could help come up with some baby announcements for Jack. He was born in June, and she figured she better get the birth announcements out before the holiday cards. “Of course,” I answered, thinking what a great chance that would be for me to play around with the card making features of My Digital Studio. It was so easy and fun to do, I made two! These are both 5″x7″ cards.

If you chose to print them through Stampin’ Up, you can also add more pictures and text for the inside, which is where I would put all of the birth announcements details, and maybe even a picture of the whole family. Which one would you pick?

My best friend from high school just had a baby, a second little boy. I wanted to make her something to celebrate his arrival, so I thought it would be a perfect time to try the Top Note Wallet. There is a great video tutorial for this on Stampin’ Addicts. Here is what the outside looks like:

Stamps: All in the Family, All in the Family Accessories
Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Accessories: Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Soft Subtle Brads (Certainly Celery), Top Note Bigz Die

The inside uses two 3″ x 3″ envelopes to hold pictures. There is a spot for each of the boys.

Hello Baby and Hello New Stuff!! I finally had a chance to do the Mojo Monday sketch this morning — I think it still counts, even if it is Mojo Tuesday!

Mojo93SketchI inked up two brand new sets for this sketch. Both of which can be purchased when the new catalog goes live tomorrow, July 1st! Whoo-hoo! It’s a great catalog! Do you have a copy yet? If not let me know. Here is the card I put together for this set. I left off the the three brads at the top right because of all of the dots on the background paper. According to the catalog, Tea Party Designer Series Paper coordinates with So Saffron, however I found that for this paper I liked Apricot Appeal better.

Stamps: Animal Stories, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Apricot Appeal, Almost Amethyst
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Tea Party Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Apricot Appeal 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon

I have some exciting news about the Scallop Border punch, but I can’t tell you until tomorrow!!

Eve and I have been having so much fun lately, doing a little bit of stamping in between school and bedtime. I’m glad she doesn’t have any homework yet. She has been waiting (not so patiently) for Kristina Werner to post the new color inspiration. When we saw it was up, we got right to it! This week’s colors were a little tricky — Basic Black, Real Red, Green Galore, So Saffron, and Whisper White.

012009-swatchesHere is what Eve came up with. She has been on a real “All in the Family” kick lately, and has gotten very good at matching up all of the little pieces. (I’ll post more of her All in the Family creations at a later point.) She used the Watercolor Pencils and matched them to the colors the best that she could.

Stamps: All in the Family, Family Phrases
Ink: Basic Black, Green Galore
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Top Note Bigz Die (she ran it through the Big Shot all by herself!), Watercolor Pencils

Thanks for looking! Eve really appreciated all of your comments last week!

Baby Onesie Cards!

My friend Tracy had her baby last week, so of course I had to make her card. My favorite baby card design was created by Lauren Meader. It is a card that looks like a baby onesie! Lauren has great tutorial on her blog that shows how to make them.

For baby Georgia’s card, I used the Simple Serif alphabet to spell out her name. (I used my handy dandy Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to make sure the letters were lined up right!) The saying below her name is from the Holidays & Wishes stamp set, and the heart in the background is from A Happy Heart Stamp Set from the mini catalog. (Look for more from this set as Valentine’s Day gets closer!)

georgiaStamps: A Happy Heart, Hugs & Wishes, Simple Serif Alphabet & Numbers
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Rich Regals Brads, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig

As long as I was make a onesie card, I decided why not make a few more?  I used the stamp from Punches Three (which you can earn for FREE since it is a hostess set! Ask me how!) and switched the colors around to make one for girls, one for boys, and one that is gender neutral.

Baby Girl card: Pretty in Pink and Rose Red
Gender neutral card: Barely Banana and Gable Green
Baby Boy card: Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue

Happy new baby, Tracy! Sending you big hugs!
