We’re doing Halloween Buddies at school — each teacher has a secret buddy that they give treats to for a week and a half before Halloween. It is so much fun! The bummer though, is that I can’t give anything stamped, because then my buddy would know that it was me! Arggh! Talk about frustrating! I f I could though, I would definitely give her this adorable Halloween matchbox.

Eve had her first field trip of the year last week. They went up to TreePeople to learn about the urban forest and taking care of our environment. We were requested to send a bag lunch with, so they wouldn’t have to carry anything back with them. I wanted her lunch to be easily identifiable among the other lunch bags, so I pulled out my stamps and jazzed it up a bit! Really, it took about 5 minutes to roll the wheel across and stamp her name. And look how cute it turned out!

Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry

Eve was super excited when I showed it to her in the morning. And it was so fast to make, I didn’t even mind the idea of it being thrown away. Just think, you could make personalized theme lunch bags for all occasions!

I’m on the social committee at school. We plan events where we can hang out and relax as a faculty — things that don’t involve school work. So of course I volunteered to host card making in the library. Our big tables are just perfect for stamping! Today was our first get together, and we had a lot of fun. We made a few different Halloween projects, and one of them fit perfectly with today’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. (Actually two of them did, but I’ll save the other for another day.) Throw in a little black, and these colors are delightfully spooky!

One of the Halloween treats that we made today was this great little bag. Look familiar? Of course it does! I have made them for Hanukkah, Valentine’s Day, and  St. Patrick’s Day. I just love the way two peppermint patties look covered with scalloped circles and Top Note Die Cut on the baggie! Here is my Halloween version:

Quilting? Yes, quilting! As I have mentioned before, the Big Shot Bigz Dies cut a wide variety of materials. One of the things it cuts is fabric. And what better to do with pieces of fabric then to make them into a quilt! At Stampin’ Up’s recent Founders Circle trip, the demonstrators there were treated to a view of Jill Olson’s amazing Big Shot Quilts. While I was not on the trip, the wonderful Stella MacKay was, and she has given me permission to share these pictures with you!

This first quilt appears to be made with pieces from the scallop square die.

How beautiful are these? And think of the time quilters can save when they cut out the fabric with their Big Shots!

Quilt2

This was made with the pieces from the 3D 5 pointed star die.

Quilt3This is made with the same die, but with the points turned in towards the middle.

Quilt4

And one more beautiful quilt.

If you would like to see the Big Shot in action, contact me! I’d love to set up a demonstration.

Hello and welcome to Stop #22 on Stampin’ Addicts Holiday Mini Catalog Blog Hop! Whether this is your last stop or your first, I hope you are enjoying the hop. I am lucky enough to feature the Build-a-Bear Big Shot Dies! Not only does Stampin’ Up have a fabulous partnership with Sizzix, producing exclusive dies for the Big Shot, but they have recently partnered with Build-a-Bear Workshop as well! Putting these three companies together has produced amazing results.

The first thing that I thought of when I saw the Stampin’ Up Bear Bigz Die, was how fun it would be to make felt bears and clothes for my daughter to play with! Since the Bigz Dies can cut over 50 different types of materials, I knew felt would be no problem. The surprising part was that I was even able to cut felt with the Sizzlets. I cut out two bears and a bunch of clothes and let Eve go to town. Here is what she came up with:

CIMG8385

Supplies: Stampin’ Up Bear Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Essentials Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Boy Sizzlet, Stampin’ Up Beary Girl Sizzlet, Assorted Felt

Of course, these super cute bears can be cut out of paper and used on cards or as fabulous scrapbook page embellishments. There is a great new pack of Designer Series Paper in the Mini catalog, Pawsitively Prints, that is fabulous for bear clothes among other things. I made two quick and easy cards. Now I need to print off all my pictures of Eve at Build-a-Bear Workshop and scrapbook them with these cuties.

CIMG8388

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Real Red, Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Stampin’ Up Bear Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Essentials Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Girl Sizzlet

CIMG8387Paper: Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Real Red, Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Stampin’ Up Bear Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Essentials Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Boy Sizzlet

The final project I have to show you for this hop is a super cute Halloween project. Since the Bigz Dies are able to cut through several layers of cardstock, I folded a piece to cut out each of these bears. the fold is hidden under the hats, and allows the bears to stand up by themselves and to be opened as shaped cards. These can be super cute invitations for a Halloween Party, or to hold Halloween treats inside or in their paws.

CIMG8386Paper: Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Stampin’ Up Bear Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Beary Essentials Bigz Die, Stampin’ Up Kooky Spooky Original Die

I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Stampin’ Addicts Holiday Mini Blog Hop! The Holiday Mini Catalog will be available beginning Tuesday, September 1st. Please be sure to visit the previous stop, Barbara’s Creative Stampin’ Spot, and the next stop, Tracy’s Stamp Therapy.
