Purim is coming up next week! Whoo-hoo! (Purim is the story of Queen Esther saving the Jews from the Wicked Haman. If you are unfamiliar with the holiday, see the explanation on Judaism 101.) One of the foods associated with Purim is the Hamantaschen. These are triangular shaped pastries, filled traditionally with poppy seeds. Personally, I fill mine with cherry pie filling, apricot preserves, or a peanut butter/chocolate chip combo. Yum! To make them, you cut the dough into a circle, the fold it into a triangle. Using my fabulous new Circle Scissors Plus, I recreated one out of paper! I sponged the edges of the circle to make it look more realistic. Enjoy!
